EDMONTON, September 13, 2016 – The Greater Interest GIC®, Canadian Western Bank’s annual campaign supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies across Canada, returns this September. Throughout the month, clients can earn a guaranteed return while setting in motion a corporate donation from the bank, based on the amount invested. Donations are directed to the BBBS agency operating in the city or region where the investment is made to ensure that kids who need a mentor have access to one in their community.
“Our people and clients have come to look forward to this campaign over the past nine years,” said Keith Hughes, CWB’s senior vice president of business and personal banking. “This product is a great fit for clients looking for a low-risk investment and who also have interest in making a positive impact in their community. We’ve had clients tell us how much they appreciate this opportunity and we’re proud to offer it”.
From now until September 30, The Greater Interest GIC is available in all CWB branches. Clients can choose from three competitive rates based on terms ranging from 15 to 27 months.
“CWB has donated more than $2 million to children’s charities like Big Brothers Big Sisters through this campaign,” said Joel Porter, BBBS Canada’s national vice president of development. “This contribution has had significant impact on our work with at-risk youth and represents one of our largest partnerships across Canada. CWB has always demonstrated their desire to support kids through mentorship and we’re proud to partner with them again this year!”
